It’s that special time of year again—when camels, shepherds, angels, and snowmen fill the streets of Berlin! Join the Berlin Area Merchants as we celebrate the start of the Christmas season with the Live Nativity Parade and candlelighting ceremony.
The parade brings the story of Jesus’ birth to life with Mary and Joseph, the Three Wise Men, angels, shepherds, and live animals—including camels, sheep, cows, donkeys, and horses—courtesy of The Farm at Walnut Creek. Cheerful snowmen will also be on hand, sharing candy and smiles with children along the route.
Each year, the event supports Operation Christmas Child, in partnership with Dayspring Mennonite Church. Volunteers will be serving hot drinks and cookies, with donations helping to send shoebox gifts filled with toys, school supplies, and hygiene items to children around the world.
The evening will conclude with a short program on the stage in the square, featuring the reading of the Christmas story by Larry Kaufman, music led by Jeff Polen, and a moving time of caroling by candlelight in the square.
Come join us as we celebrate the true meaning of Christmas in the heart of Amish Country: Berlin, Ohio.
